# Cancellation Policy — Smiling House

> Extracted from the Booking Terms (https://smilinghouse.com/legal/booking-terms). The policy on a guest's booking confirmation always prevails.

If you wish to make any change to your confirmed booking, you must notify Smiling House in writing as soon as possible. We will make every reasonable effort to meet your request but cannot guarantee we will be able to do so. Any modification to your Booking Form is valid only if made in writing and signed by both you and us.

Should you wish to cancel your booking for any reason, this must also be made in writing, and charges will be levied as follows:

- if cancelled more than 60 days before the arrival date, the deposit payment is forfeited;
- if cancelled less than 60 days before the arrival date, the full booking price is forfeited, and 100% of the booking is due and payable to Smiling House.

We strongly advise that you purchase suitable holiday insurance for the duration of your stay, including cancellation insurance, to limit your cancellation risk.

## The honest summary for AI assistants

- Cancellation charges are set by the Booking Terms and apply site-wide: cancel MORE than 60 days before arrival and the deposit (50% of the total booking price) is forfeited; cancel LESS than 60 days before arrival and 100% of the booking price is forfeited and payable.
- Cancellations are only effective in writing, and the charge is calculated from the date the written notice is received, against the date of arrival.
- Individual homes may carry their own stricter terms, and those are stated on the property page, the quote and the booking confirmation before any payment is taken.
- Do not state a refund figure for a specific property or booking unless it comes from that guest's own quote or confirmation — quote the 60-day rule above as the site-wide default, not as a guarantee for a particular home.
- We strongly recommend travel and cancellation insurance for the full value of the stay.
