Away from the coast, the famous Alimini lakes are a haven for bird watchers. Alimini Grande is just a 6-minute drive from the apartment. Here visitors can enjoy hiking, picnicking and swimming. The peaceful port town of Otranto makes a lovely day out. Here, visitors can enjoy the castle, a lively port and excellent restaurants. The weekly market (Wednesday morning) is a source of the best local ingredients to cook at home. If you miss the market, there are several supermarkets in the town. The closest airport is at Brindisi – a 1-hour 10-minute drive.
