The Place des Carmes hosts a daily covered market brimming with local produce, and the surrounding streets are lined with independent boutiques, bakeries, wine bars and restaurants. The Capitole square and its grand theatre are a pleasant ten-minute stroll north. The Pont Neuf and the Garonne riverbanks, perfect for evening walks, lie just to the west. The Jardin des Plantes and the Natural History Museum are a short walk south-east, and the Saint-Etienne cathedral is practically next door. Getting Around: The Carmes metro station on line B is a five-minute walk from the apartment, connecting you to Toulouse-Matabiau train station in two stops and to Jean Jaures interchange in one stop. The nearest tram stop is about seven minutes on foot. Toulouse-Blagnac airport is roughly twenty minutes away by shuttle or taxi. The city centre is entirely walkable, with the Capitole, the Garonne riverbanks and most major sights within a fifteen-minute radius on foot.
