Whilst on land, the lakefront is a glorious place to walk at any time of day. Away from the lake, there are hiking and mountain bike routes through scenic countryside. The town of Toscolano Maderno is packed with things to see. For self-catering, the weekly market (Thursday morning) provides much local produce to cook at home. Lovers of art and history can visit the famous "Vittoriale degli Italiani", home of Gabriele D'Annunzio in Gardone Riviera, and the new Salò museum called "MU SA”. The nearest airports are Verona Villafranca (1 hour 20 minutes drive) and Milan Bergamo (1 hour and 25 minutes drive).
