The resort is part of the Via Lattea ski network, which consists of 400km of skiable trails that criss-cross the mountains. The resort has a lot to offer throughout the year. In the winter months, the nearby slopes suit skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort also offers cross-country skiing, heli-skiing, ice skating, motor sledging, dog sledging and snowshoeing. Summer visitors can go hiking through the forests and alpine meadows. There are numerous tracks for mountain biking at all levels, as well as tennis, golf and swimming. The area also hosts many festivals and events for all ages, including environmental initiatives and cultural evenings. There are many great restaurants and bars in Sestriere, which will suit all tastes and budgets in the area. For self-catering, Sestriere has supermarkets and smaller shops selling local specialities.
