The main house dominates the garden and contemplates the ocean. The nine rooms face the ocean. Some rooms are found in the main house, just like being in a family home, while others are in bungalows tucked away in the middle of the garden. Stay by the sea, splitting your time between glorious indolence and walks along the beach, enjoying platters of seafood and regional produce. Ensure that you also make time to visit the town of Safi with its fifteenth-century Portuguese fortress built by Vasco de Gama and, a little further away, the ramparts in the fortified town of El Jadida. These are the delights that await those who travel to the coast. A coast which is also home to artisan potters, with ceramics being the town’s major industry and the longstanding source of the region’s reputation. From Potter’s Hill to Chaaba Valley and all the way to the Marabout of Sidi Abderrahmane, ancestral skills are passed down from generation to generation here, producing high-quality, internationally renowned traditional craftsmanship.
