The neighbourhood
Ambelas is on the East side of the island, just underneath Naoussa which is considered one of the best places to visit on the island. From Ambelas it is just a few kilometers from the popular, bustling fishing village of Naoussa, famous for white painted streets, boutique shops, restaurants and bars.
You will be close to the coastline, walking distance from smaller beaches and tavernas favored by locals but not over populated by tourists even in high season. From Ambelas you can easily drive up into the hills to find the historic, former island Capital Town of Lefkes, visit local riding centers, try a sailing lesson in Kolymbithres, or visit a larger scale, more commercial beach such as Santa Maria
