The Matterhorn, with her breathtaking summits and dazzling glaciers, looms over Zermatt, a skiing paradise that also hosts a range of other sporting and cultural events, from golf competitions to food fairs and music festivals. Situated in the exclusive ‘Petit Village’ district, a few minutes’ walk from her cobbled streets is this stunning Chalet, a stunning chalet that blends in perfectly with her majestic and mesmerizing surroundings. This elegant, 500m2 chalet is decorated in neutral tones, yet still feels like a family home with comfortable, soft furnishings and rich fabrics. The second floor is partitioned so that the huge bay windows offer the best possible views of the surrounding beauty. In the sitting room, fake fur throws and sumptuous cushions fill the sofas that surround an impressive, marble fireplace. A few steps from the bar area is a striking open plan kitchen and dining area, with panoramic windows; the perfect setting for dinner by candlelight. And to help you further unwind, the chalet also has its own home cinema and billiard room in which to relax. Five impressive bedrooms take up the first floor, each with an en-suite bathroom that features an Italian shower and large, cozy beds to invite you in when night falls. One of the bedrooms also has two sofas and makes for a comfortable family room. To use the words of Rainer Maria Rilke, the poet inspired by the Valaisan landscape, this exquisite chalet breathes serenity, for “where peace is infinite, so comes calm and clarity”.
