Enjoy a welcoming oasis in Colorado Springs’ beloved historic district known as Old Colorado City. This lot includes two separate, Southwest-style dwellings that are perfect for groups traveling together who still want some separation and privacy: a main house, and a detached guest cottage.
First, let’s step into the main house with its welcoming arches providing a glimpse into the shady front porch.
Open the front door and be greeted by a welcoming, comfortable living area with an open view into the dining section of the eat-in kitchen.
Here, you’ll find the perfect lounging space with a Roku TV mounted above the electric fireplace (under repairs 5/26/22), in view of the soft, plump L-shaped sofa. Stretch out on the plush cushions and still be able to chat with your fellow guests sitting at the 6-person dining table.
The dining table enjoys plenty of natural light from the sliding glass doors just beside it. The doors open onto a large deck with a propane fire pit surrounded by comfortable, upscale patio furniture. It’s the perfect place to gather for cocktails at dusk or swap spooky stories after dark. A short flight of stairs carries you from the deck to the yard below, completely fenced and tidily landscaped with gravel, providing a safe place for kids to play.
Back inside, the cook can chat openly with the rest of the family at the dining table, as the kitchen is completely open. Preparing meals will be a breeze with a suite of full-size appliances that includes a refrigerator/freezer, range with cooktop and oven, microwave and dishwasher, as well as a toaster, coffee maker, blender, and a set of chef’s knives. Granite countertops provide plenty of space to work, and there’s no shortage of cabinets.
Feel free to pack light, because you can do your laundry here, whenever you want to. A wide set of doors in the kitchen open to reveal a full-size washer and dryer.
This main house features three bedrooms, all thoughtfully decorated in restful colors with simple, modern furnishings that offer a hint of rustic Rocky Mountain character. Two guest bedrooms provides a queen bed, closet, and a Roku TV for watching what you want, when you want.
The primary bedroom is extra-special, with a king size bed, additional space, a larger closet, a dresser, a Roku TV, and an en suite bath that includes a shower stall.
A second bathroom in the hall serves guests staying in the other bedrooms, with a combination shower/tub with a sliding glass door enclosure and an extra-large countertop and mirror.
Now, let’s wander a short distance down a concrete pathway that connects the main house with the guest house.
The guest house provides two bedrooms and one bath, with an open concept living space delightfully decorated with contemporary furnishings and Southwestern flair.
The common area includes a lounging corner with a 3-seater sofa and chair centered around a wall-mounted Roku TV. At the rear of the space, a large, fully-appointed kitchen provides a counter-height dining table for four, plus a refrigerator/freezer, range with cooktop and oven, microwave, and dishwasher. We haven’t forgotten the coffee maker or the chef’s knives!
There’s no need to haul your dirty clothes next door to the “big house,” because you’ve got your own washer and dryer here, tucked behind two knotty pine doors in the kitchen.
The bedrooms here are simply but elegantly decorated and provide closets, and each its own Roku TV. The larger room has a king sized bed while the 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed.
The bathroom has two entrances – one directly from the larger of the two bedrooms. It provides a spacious shower stall with a glass enclosure and a sink vanity with storage below.
Hotel-grade linens are professionally laundered after every visit.
This home is managed by a local vacation and mid-term rental specialist, and there’s a sense of quality and care that’s worthy of your 5-star review.
