Cars are not allowed inside Borgo di Spereto. From Montaione it is possible to organise excursions to San Gimignano, Volterra and San Vivaldo (known as the Tuscan Jerusalem). The beaches of the Etruscan Coast are easily reachable within an hour's drive. Also visit the historic village of San Miniato and stop for a truffle dinner. About 3 km away you will find an equestrian centre where you can organise a horseback ride. A renowned golf course is a 10-minute drive away. The region lends itself very well to mountain biking.
